Your Wedding Transportation….How Will You Go ?

While working as a wedding photographer in Perth and the south west of Western Australia I have witnessed many different modes of transport used to whisk the bride to her waiting husband to be.

So the question I ask is…..How will you travel on your wedding day?

Will you choose to just walk to the ceremony , or will you choose another mode of transportation ?…… like the escalator or the elevator…….or was the latter, later in the night ?

Then of course, something you dont see as much of these days…the horse and carriage….a classical favourite, but don’t forget the shovel.

You could always go by boat………but make sure the poms bring plenty of sunscreen !

Here’s a couple I would like to see……rollerblading or surfing….both probably fairly unlikely ??

There is the bus , of course, now that is cool….you can pick the guest’s up on the way !

You could even go by tractor……….

The cow ?

I thought you would ask. He comes with the tractor.

Of course, nothing tops arriving by helicopter, especially when I’m allowed to hop on also. You can’t buy views like this !!

However….most prefer to travel by wheeled transport,  although you may be surprised to know….I have no photos of brides on Motorbikes…..(WTF)

So lets stick to the 4 wheeled variety and they certainly come in many forms, from the stretch limo, to classics like the Daimlers and Rollers and Jags, to American muscle cars, to Holden legends like the FJ, Hummers, sports cars…..and more.

And then if you are not very prepared, you could always try pot luck……….Good luck with that !!

I hope you enjoyed our little journey with some of the wedding cars and the like from some of our weddings over the last 2 or 3 years. If you need information on some of the vehicles on this post feel free to give us a call,

The Importance of Family….and Photography

As you may know, I have just returned from a family wedding in New Zealand. As my twin 8 year olds had not visited NZ since they were 2 years old I decided to take them with me to see their Granma…..or “Nanna Kiwi” as she is affectionately known. My mum is getting on ( she will kill me if she reads this) and I didn’t want her missing out on seeing them. I also come from a family of seven boys….most of whom live (and breed) in NZ, so there are lots of cuzzies there  the kids have never met…..and they are all older…teenagers and young adults..

So my two were very excited about meeting all their cuzzies from NZ, as they have very few cousins living here in Australia.

Well to cut a long story short….to see the looks of astonishment and pleasure on their faces on the first day as “cuzzi’ after “cuzzi” walked in Nanna Kiwi’s door to say hello made that horribly long flight so worth it…..Georgie and Alexi were just so enamoured with their big cousins and the attention they recieved. It was heartwarming to say the least and they had so much fun just being around them.

Their best memories for sure are their trips to town with their big cuzzies, going to a wedding with their big cuzzies and best of all…curling up in bed watching movies with their big cuzzies….

So what has all this got to do with photography ?

Well, after it was all over, and we were back on the airplane (not without a few tears mind), the first thing they did was go through the images they had taken of their new found best friends  on their camera. These family photos taken by them and some by myself , will be treasured for a very long time and will form the foundations of some very lasting and cherished memories.  The images are not exactly “award winners” or of “professional standard” but they are very  important never the less.

Engagement Photos in the Beautiful Ferguson Valley

Katherine and Ashley are getting married in November this year. This week I had the pleasure of shooting their engagement photos on Katherine’s parents property high in the Ferguson Valley.

We will be back here in November for the wedding pics and it will look much different. It should still be reasonably green from the winter rains.

Today it was very hot…so hot that Katherine decided against her original plan of saddling up the horses. So we went for a wander in the paddocks instead….hope you like the pics

Envy photographs a wedding in Perth

Last week in New Zealand, this week in Perth, Western Australia….just a short hop back across the ditch really.

Michelle used to be our children’s nanny back when we lived in Perth and our twin girls were just little. She was a wonderful nanny and our kids loved her, so we were delighted to be her photographers when she married the man in her life, Neil.

Neil likes to do a bit of surfing when he’s not driving his big sexy truck, and he had a nice surprise waiting for him when he got back to the honeymoon suite later that night………maybe you will spot it ?
